Jeanie Marie Buss is an American businesswoman. she is the current president and controlling owner of Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Buss, who is originally from California, was raised in an extremely wealthy family. Jerry Buss was her father. Jerry Buss started out as a realty business tycoon after which he later became the owner of the Lakers. Her parents parted ways in 1972 which made her feel that she was emotionally left behind. At the age 19 she became the general manager for the Los Angeles Strings, a professional tennis club. Later, she established the Los Angeles Blades pro roller hockey team. The position she held was President of Great Western Forum prior to becoming the vice-president of Lakers. Her father died in 2013, and the control of the Lakers was inherited by Buss and her five siblings by a trust of the family which gave each sibling the same vote. Buss assumed the role of the President of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is co-owner of Women of Wrestling an pro-wrestling promotional business based out of Los Angeles.
