Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style that blends R&B with soul, gospel music and R&B. Avery Sunshine has appeared on Broadway and at festivals in Europe as well as her appearance at the Democratic National Convention. The real name of Sunshine is Denise White. While she now lives in Atlanta her birthplace was Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical journey began in the church, where she sang as well as played piano. She attended Spellman College and began to study the R&B styles of Atlanta. The Fighting Temptations The first single with her vocals was called Stalk You which was a house 12-inch released exclusively in Japan It was later remixed by a variety of producers and has become the mainstay of her live sets. The Fighting Temptations was the second soundtrack that she sang on. The band was hired as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award winner) offered her a position as choir conductor for Dreamgirls in Atlanta during the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was brought to the attention of all of the country during daily performances of four at 2008's Democratic National Convention. Sunshine then went on to be invited to sing for the President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
